Trevor Story Has Three Hits In Rehab Game
2 years agoBoston Red Sox second baseman Trevor Story (wrist) went 3-for-4 with a double, home run, two RBI and two runs scored while playing second base on Thursday in a minor league rehab game with Double-A Portland. In his second rehab game, he played seven innings at the keystone, and it looks like he's getting closer to rejoining the Red Sox. The 29-year-old will return to Boston on Friday for evaluation, but he's not expected to be activated from the injured list just yet. When he does return, Story will be coming back to a .221/.289/.423 slash line with 15 long balls, 58 RBI, 49 runs scored and 10 stolen bases in 307 at-bats in his first year in Beantown. Christian Arroyo has been hot at the plate this month and is seeing most of the starts at second base of late.
