4 years agoColorado Rockies shortstop Trevor Story (elbow) is still sitting out, according to Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post, with a strained arm. The Rockies' game vs. the Pirates was postponed on Friday due to inclement weather but Story likely wouldn't have played after straining his right forearm and elbow in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Mets. Manager Bud Black said Story was doing a little better on Friday but added that "the tightness is still apparent in the forearm and around the elbow, but not quite as much as it was last night." If the issue persists over the weekend then Story would likely receive an MRI on Monday once the team returns to Denver. For now, the star shortstop should be considered day-to-day. He should continue to undergo treatment over the weekend while the team monitors his progress. Brendan Rodgers and/or Garrett Hampson will likely fill in at shortstop if he were to miss the weekend series with the Pirates.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
