Trevor Story To Reject Qualifying Offer
3 years agoColorado Rockies shortstop Trevor Story is expected to reject the qualifying offer and become a free agent Wednesday. He will hit the open market for the first time after being drafted into the Rockies organization in 2011. Over six big-league seasons, Story has slashed .272/.340/.523 with 158 homers and 100 steals in 745 games. He is considered to be one of the big-five shortstops available this winter, and the only foregone conclusion appears to be that he will not be returning to Colorado, as the club has not been in touch with Story about a reunion, and the 29-year-old has made his displeasure with the team very public over the past few years.
