Trevor Williams Allows One Hit, But Takes No-Decision
7 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Trevor Williams allowed only one hit against the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday, but it wasn't enough for his fourth win of the season as his team eventually lost in extra innings. The right-hander also tied a career-high with seven strikeouts in his six innings. However, he walked five batters in a game for the second time this year. He was able to limit the damage until the fifth inning, when opposing pitcher Nick Pivetta hit an RBI double, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and scored on a sacrifice fly. Still, it was another quality start for Williams, who now has four in five outings. He now has a sparkling 2.15 ERA, but his overall lack of strikeouts and control issues make him hard to trust in even deep fantasy leagues. He'll take the bump against the St. Louis Cardinals in his next start on Saturday in what could be a risky matchup.
