Trevor Williams K's Eight In Loss
4 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Trevor Williams suffered a tough loss on Tuesday versus the Atlanta Braves. Williams went five innings on the evening and allowed six hits, two runs, two walks and struck out a season-high eight. With the exception of giving up five runs against the Pittsburgh Pirates on April 11, Williams has allowed two runs or less in his other five starts. The veteran now owns a 4.44 ERA with 27 strikeouts and 10 walks on the season in 24 1/3 innings. Williams will look to pick up his second victory of the season versus the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday. Williams is trending up and offers his most value as a streamer, but managers looking for an end of the rotation arm should consider Williams in deeper leagues.
