7 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Trevor Williams earned his fourth win of the season on Saturday, pitching six innings of two-run baseball against the St. Louis Cardinals. The right-hander allowed just four hits and two walks while striking out two. Williams is finding success without dominant stuff, as he has a 2.29 ERA through six starts. Still, it's hard to see this continuing much longer if he maintains subpar strikeout and walk rates. Despite being a fly-ball pitcher, Williams also has just a 2.6 percent home-run-to-fly-ball-ratio, meaning some regression is coming his way eventually. His next start should come on Thursday against the Washington Nationals.--Matt Wilkes
