Trevor Williams Takes Tough-Luck Loss
7 years agoDespite throwing well against a strong Colorado Rockies offense, Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Trevor Williams picked up his first loss of the season on Tuesday. The right-hander struck out four and allowed just two runs, four hits, and three walks in six innings, but he received no run support on a frigid night in PNC Park. Despite the disappointing outcome, Williams still holds a nice 3-1 record and 1.93 ERA through his first four starts of the season. Some regression is almost certainly coming, however, and his low strikeout totals (14 in 23 1/3 innings) don't give him much fantasy upside. Williams' next opponent will be the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday.
