Trevor Williams Turns In Forgettable Outing On Sunday
6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Trevor Williams allowed four runs in six innings in a no-decision against the San Diego Padres on Sunday. The right-hander allowed only four hits and didn't walk a batter, but he had trouble working out of jams, the big blow being a two-run homer by Christian Villanueva in the fourth inning. He struck out five on the day, just the fourth time on the year he's reached that number in a start. Williams now owns a 3.05 ERA on the season, though his upside will continue to be limited by a below-average strikeout rate (17.1 percent).
