Trey Burton Signs With Colts
5 years agoThe Indianapolis Colts have signed tight end Trey Burton to one-year deal worth the minimum. Burton spent the past two seasons with the Chicago Bears, and he'll receive a total of $4 million that's already guaranteed from the Bears. Limited to just eight games in 2019, he finished with 14 catches for 84 yards after a 2018 campaign that saw him grab 54 passes for 569 yards and six scores. A healthy Burton can still be a quality NFL tight end, though he's unlikely to have the same kind of role with the Colts that the player he's ostensibly replacing, Eric Ebron, had. Expect Jack Doyle to be the clear TE1 in Indy, with Burton getting a few looks per game. Without a Doyle injury, Burton won't have much of a path to fantasy relevance.
