Trey Lance Has Terrific Performance In Preseason Opener
2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance completed 4-out-of-5 passes for 92 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions in Friday's 28-21 win over the Green Bay Packers. He also rushed for seven yards on one attempt. Lance impressed in his first preseason game as the team's undisputed starter. The No.3 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft tossed a 76-yard bomb on target to rookie receiver Danny Gray for the score. His only incompletion was a deep shot that Gray caught out of bounds on the first drive. Lance scrambled once for a seven-yard first down on his lone rushing attempt. It was precisely the kind of game the 49ers were hoping for and won't make them question the decision to choose Lance as the team's starting quarterback over Jimmy Garoppolo, who didn't play due to a shoulder injury.
