3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers rookie quarterback Trey Lance (finger) remained limited in practice on Thursday. The third overall pick in the 2021 has been dealing with a chip in his finger and had a splint removed on Monday. It's encouraging news that Lance could have a shot to suit up in Week 1 versus the Detroit Lions, but veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo remains at the top of the depth chart for now. The 49ers didn't draft Lance to not utilize him and if he's active, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him get some action on the field. The rookie has a tremendous upside and should be rostered in most formats for that reason, even with Garoppolo opening the season as the No. 1 signal caller on the depth chart.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
