Trey Lance Decent In Preseason Performance
3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance completed only five of his 14 pass attempts during his unofficial league debut on Saturday against the Kansas City Chiefs. However, although the rookie's completion percentage wasn't encouraging, he managed to partially make amends by racking up 128 yards through the air, including connecting with Trent Sherfield on an 80-yard toss for a touchdown. Despite his somewhat lackluster statistical showing, the 21-year-old fared well by routinely displaying his mobility and arm strength throughout the night. Still, head coach Kyle Shanahan remains "even-keeled" about the first-year signal-caller and veteran Jimmy Garoppolo starting Week 1. Nonetheless, regardless of who begins the year under center, it should only be a matter of time before the No. 3 overall pick surpasses Garoppolo for the starting gig. Managers in the position to stash should undoubtedly do so for when the time comes. As far as the former Bison's outlook in dynasty formats, he should remain a cherished option and be selected early in the first round of upcoming fantasy drafts, especially playing in such a quarterback-friendly system.
