3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers rookie quarterback Trey Lance (finger) did not throw during Monday's practice. This is a negative development in the rookie's recovery, as head coach Kyle Shanahan said last week that the goal was for Lance to practice in full on Monday. Instead, he participated during individual drills but did not make throws. With that said, according to Eric Branch of The San Francisco Chronicle, the No. 3 pick "did grip a football, which he did not do last week, during a drill near the start of practice." Going forward, it will be important for Lance to ease back into throwing once he is ready. After all, the 49ers don't want to worsen his injury before he has even played a game for them. While San Francisco has not named a starting quarterback for Week 1, it looks like Lance's ailment will give the job to Jimmy Garoppolo.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBaller
