Trey Mancini Acquired By Astros
2 years agoThe Houston Astros acquired first baseman/outfielder Trey Mancini from the Baltimore Orioles on Monday, according to sources. It's unknown who the Orioles will get in exchange, but they are expected to receive multiple players. With Mancini now in town, the struggling Yuli Gurriel will now find himself on the bench more often. Houston's top first base target was Washington Nationals first baseman Josh Bell, so he's now unlikely to land with the Astros before Tuesday's deadline. The 30-year-old Mancini will bring the Astros an experienced hitter from the right side of the plate. In 354 at-bats with Baltimore this year, he was hitting .268/.347/.404 with 10 home runs, 41 RBI and 39 runs scored.
