Trey Mancini Still Out Against Blue Jays
2 years agoBaltimore Orioles first baseman Trey Mancini (hand) remains out of the starting lineup on Thursday against the Toronto Blue Jays. Mancini was hit on his right hand by a pitch on Monday and hasn't played since, and he said on Wednesday that he's still two to three days away from returning to action. Hopefully the 30-year-old will be able to return to the lineup at some point this weekend. Mancini is slashing a strong .290/.373/.424 with six home runs, 25 RBI and 25 runs scored in 249 plate appearances over 58 games for the O's this year. Rookie Adley Rutschmann, who hit his first MLB homer on Wednesday, is serving as the designated hitter and batting cleanup, while Robinson Chirinos will do the catching and hit eighth against Jays right-hander Kevin Gausman.
