Trey Mancini To See Work In Corner Outfield
3 years agoBaltimore Orioles first baseman/designated hitter Trey Mancini will get some work in the corner outfield spots this spring, and Ryan Mountcastle will focus on first base, according to manager Brandon Hyde. With Mountcastle likely to be the team's primary first baseman, it's probable that most of Mancini's starts in 2022 will come as the DH. The 29-year-old missed all of the 2020 season while battling cancer, but he bounced back in a big way last year to slash .255/.326/.432 with 21 home runs and 71 RBI in 616 plate appearances over 147 games. Mancini had a career-high 35 home runs and 97 RBI in 2019, but fantasy managers shouldn't necessarily expect a return to that power threshold.
