Trey Sermon A Healthy Scratch Against Cowboys
3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers rookie running back Trey Sermon is a healthy scratch for Sunday's wild-card game against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Sermon was just activated from Injured Reserve earlier this week, and he has not played since Week 12. The third-round rookie has played sparingly in his first season in the NFL, carrying the ball 41 times for 167 yards (4.1 yards per carry) and one touchdown, while adding three catches for 26 yards in nine games played. Sermon has a bright future as a dynasty/keeper stash, but with Elijah Mitchell, Jeff Wilson Jr. and JaMycal Hasty ahead of him on the depth chart entering the postseason, Sermon is the odd man out this weekend against Dallas.
