3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Trey Sermon is dealing with a head injury suffered in his game against the Philadelphia Eagles. After being a healthy scratch Week 1, Sermon was active for Week 2 but failed to get much playing time until running back Elijah Mitchell temporarily left the game. Then, on his first carry of his career, Sermon collected a solid gain but took a hard hit to the head and was taken out for the rest of the game. It's too early to accurately analyze how the rookie's college skills will translate to the NFL, but given his draft equity, it's safe to assume that he'll eventually be a valuable fantasy asset, just not yet, especially accounting for the injury. The 22-year-old can be dropped in shallow leagues if fantasy managers have filled their IR spots with more valuable pieces. Still, managers should try to hold onto Sermon for as long as possible.--Jordan Eisen
