Trey Sermon Runs Disappoints As Starter In Preseason Opener
2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Trey Sermon rushed for 11 yards on six carries while catching one pass for five yards in Friday's preseason win over the Green Bay Packers. He started Friday's game and had the second-most carries of any 49ers running back. The 23-year-old was inefficient with his rushing attempts, averaging 1.6 yards per carry. Tyrion Davis-Price and JaMycal Hasty led the team in rushing. The two running backs at the top of the depth chart, Elijah Mitchell and Jeff Wilson Jr., were inactive. There is enough depth in front of Sermon that he should not be considered a fantasy-relevant player if he does not improve. The next 49ers game is Saturday, August 20, against the Vikings.
