5 years agoThe San Diego Padres optioned reliever Trey Wingenter to Triple-A on Sunday. Along with outfielder Josh Naylor, Wingenter was demoted to make room for top pitching prospects Michel Baez and Adrian Morejon. With a 12.6 K/9, the 25-year-old Wingenter offered tantalizing strikeout potential but lacked consistent control and was hit hard often.
