5 years agoThe San Diego Padres placed relief pitcher Trey Wingenter (shoulder) on the 10-day injured list on Sunday, retroactive to May 4, due to a strained right shoulder. The team recalled pitcher Phil Maton from Triple-A El Paso in the corresponding move. Maton is expected to work in middle relief. Wingenter will be missed in manager Andy Green's bullpen, as he has a 2.93 ERA and 0.98 WHIP across 15 1/3 innings with seven holds and 21 strikeouts across 16 relief appearances. Wingenter has emerged as a solid NL-only fantasy option in rotisserie formats using true middle relievers.--Daniel Dobish
