7 years agoToronto Blue Jays shortstop Troy Tulowitzki (ankles) will have surgery to remove bone spurs from both of his ankles, according to general manager Ross Atkins. The best-case scenario is that Tulowitzki will be back in eight weeks. Things have gone from bad to worse for Tulo over recent seasons, and he's no longer one to stash in most mixed leagues anymore because of his inability to stay on the field. Given his injury history, it's a good bet that he'll take longer than eight weeks to return. In his absence, Aledmys Diaz is expected to mainly play shortstop, although Yangervis Solarte is another candidate to man the 6. Diaz has started at short and hit ninth in the first two games of the season so far.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
