Twins Recall LaMonte Wade
5 years agoThe Minnesota Twins recalled outfielder LaMonte Wade from Triple-A Rochester on Thursday to take the injured Willians Astudillo's spot on the roster. Wade has shown strong on-base skills in the minors with a .391 career OBP and more walks (292) than strikeouts (268). He has some power and speed, but not a lot with 40 home runs and 43 steals in 2004 plate appearances. He is also 25 years old with no prospect pedigree. Wade will be making his Major League debut when he first appears for the Twins, and he is not particularly interesting from a fantasy perspective unless he gets off to a hot start. Even then, playing time will be a question in the strong Twins lineup.
