Twins Sign Anibal Sanchez
7 years agoThe Minnesota Twins signed free-agent starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez to a $2.5 million major league deal, with $2.5 million available in incentives. The deal is pending a physical. The Twins were desperate for rotation help with last year's ace, Ervin Santana, set to begin the year on the disabled list. While Sanchez should open the year in the rotation, fantasy owners probably don't want any part of him after he posted an unsightly 6.41 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 8.9 K/9 in 17 starts (105 1/3 innings) in 2017. The K's were the only thing Sanchez could hang his hat on last year, as he was even demoted to the minors at one point. Sanchez's strikeouts aren't worth the damage he'll do to the rest of your pitching ratios.
