Ty Dillon Climbs Into Top-20 Start At Fontana
3 years agoTy Dillon probably did not expect to start 18th at Fontana but he will on Sunday. The Petty GMS Motorsports driver has had three consecutive appearances of 26th or worse at the Southern California track. The No. 42 Chevy was faster in qualifying than in practice but is it enough? That 31st in practice is troublesome and could be a harbinger of how Dillon does during longer runs. Loop data of past races does not seem to be on his side either. The expectation is that Dillon runs very little in the top 15 on Sunday later in the race.
