Ty France Slugs Fifth Home Run
4 years agoSeattle Mariners designated hitter Ty France wasted no time Saturday, slugging a two-run home run off Rangers lefty Wes Benjamin in the top of the first inning. That was France's fifth homer of the spring, as well as his ninth and tenth RBI. The five homers are tied for the major league lead. France is now slashing an impressive .424/.500/.970, leaving fantasy managers to hope these numbers carry over into the regular season. France also seems to have locked up the second spot in the batting order, which would afford him plenty of opportunity to accrue counting stats. France is steadily rising up fantasy draft boards, and is at least worthy of a late-round selection.
