3 years agoSeattle Mariners infielder Ty France will be the team's starting first baseman next season, Mariners president of baseball operations Jerry Dipoto told reporters at the general manager meetings on Tuesday. France, who joined Seattle in a 2020 trade with the San Diego Padres, enjoyed a breakout season at the plate in 2021. In 650 plate appearances, the 27-year-old hit .291 with a .368 on-base percentage and 18 home runs. Arguably the Mariners best position player last season, France also started games at second base and third base.--Ben Rosener - RotoBaller
