Ty Johnson Makes A Splash On Friday
3 years agoNew York Jets running back Ty Johnson received the start in Friday's preseason finale against the Philadelphia Eagles. Veteran back Tevin Coleman was inactive, so the Jets gave Johnson the bulk of the carries. He rushed 13 times for 53 yards and one touchdown in what ended up being a tie. Johnson also added two receptions for 18 yards through the air. It was a positive showing from Johnson, but sadly he'll likely be stuck in a running back committee to begin the season. He'll probably have to share carries with Coleman and Michael Carter in the backfield. Possibly, Johnson is worth monitoring in deep formats, but probably won't have value in 12-team leagues.
