Ty Montgomery Active Against Dolphins
2 years agoNew England Patriots running back Ty Montgomery (knee), who was carted off the field after getting injured in the preseason finale, is officially active in the Week 1 regular season opener against the Miami Dolphins. It's a bit of a surprise to see him active, but it's a big boost to the team's passing game, as Montgomery projects to be the team's top receiving back. However, the Patriots also have Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson, who made huge strides as a pass-catcher this offseason. Montgomery should have more of a chance for a pass-catching role in 2022 with James White now retired, but he shouldn't be in play as a realistic starting option for fantasy managers, unless you're in an extremely deep PPR league. With Montgomery active, rookie Pierre Strong Jr. is a healthy scratch.
