3 years agoFree-agent running back Ty Montgomery agreed to a two-year deal worth up to $4 million with the New England Patriots on Thursday, according to a league source. Montgomery spent the past two seasons with the New Orleans Saints, totaling four carries for 145 yards and adding 19 receptions on 32 targets for 122 additional yards in 20 games (four starts). The 29-year-old can also double as a receiver if needed, but he's unlikely to have much of a role in a crowded Patriots backfield that also features Damien Harris, Rhamondre Stevenson and pass-catching back James White.
