2 years agoNew England Patriots running back/wide receiver Ty Montgomery rushed for 13 yards on four attempts and a touchdown while catching his only target for five yards in Friday's 20-10 preseason win over the Carolina Panthers. The Patriots rotated Damien Harris, Rhamondre Stevenson, and Montgomery rotated by drives instead of situations in the first half of Friday's contest. Montgomery punched it in from the two-yard in the second quarter for the team's first touchdown. The 29-year-old could see more passing-down work and is the top candidate to replace recently retired running back James White. Montgomery will look to build on Friday's performance when the Patriots take on the Las Vegas Raiders for their final preseason game.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
