Ty Montgomery Set For Increased Workload
5 years agoNew York Jets running back Ty Montgomery should see more touches in Week 2 with starter Le'Veon Bell (shoulder) questionable for the game. Montgomery was a non-factor last week against the Bills gaining only four yards on two carries and not recording a target. He should see his workload go up this week regardless, but should only be started if Bell is ruled out, something fantasy owners may not know until Monday making him a risky start unless there is definitive word on Bell. With QB Sam Darnold (illness) also out Monday it could be a tough night for the Jets offense. However, if Montgomery is the lead back the former receiver should be a relatively safe RB2 based on the volume and targets he should see, especially in PPR formats.
