Ty Montgomery Used Sparingly Against Detroit
6 years agoGreen Bay Packers running back Ty Montgomery saw very little action in Week 5. Against the Detroit Lions he had four carries for 15 yards and one catch for 23 yards. He saw most of his action at the end of the game when Green Bay was in its hurry up offense. This usage is pretty consistent with all expectations for Montgomery. The veteran started his career as a wide receiver and is primarily utilized when his pass catching skills will be most useful. He has clearly fallen behind running backs Jamaal Williams and Aaron Jones on the depth chart. Absent at least one injury, it is hard to justify rostering Montgomery. There is no reason to roster him in non-PPR leagues.
