Tyler Anderson Sees Five-Inning Streak Snapped
3 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Tyler Anderson came within one out of extending his season-long streak of pitching at least five innings in every start Wednesday, exiting after 4 2/3 innings against the Houston Astros. He gave up four runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out four batters in a no-decision. Despite the streak, Anderson has only completed six innings 11 times in 26 starts, limiting his potential to earn wins and quality starts. With a 4.20 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and 120 strikeouts in 148 innings, he's a steady but unimpressive option the rest of the way.
