6 years agoSan Francisco Giants first baseman/outfielder Tyler Austin (elbow) is battling an inflamed elbow, and the injury is a result of throwing in the outfield before Saturday's game against the Colorado Rockies. Austin had an MRI and it came back clean. There is no decision on whether he'll need a stint on the 10-day injured list or not. If he remains active, he will be available to serve as a pinch hitter, manager Bruce Bochy said. Fantasy owners in NL-only leagues will want to reserve him as a precaution heading into the new scoring period.--Daniel Dobish
