Tyler Chatwood Departs Sunday Start Early
4 years agoChicago Cubs right-handed pitcher Tyler Chatwood left Sunday’s game against the Reds in the third inning due to an apparent injury. Righty Colin Rea took over for Chatwood on the hill, even though Jose Quintana was widely expected to be the club’s backup plan had anything gone south with Chatwood. Moving forward, Quintana would be the likeliest option to take over the open rotation spot. Chatwood has battled a strained back for the vast majority of the season, with his latest malady potentially knocking him from the rotation for more than just his early exit.
