6 years agoThis is why you can’t trust Toronto Blue Jays reliever Tyler Clippard. While he has (or should I say, had) sparkling statistics on the season, Clippard is always prone to blowup outings that will simply ruin a fantasy owner’s day. After clean efforts in his first two save opportunities with normal closer Roberto Osuna on administrative leave, the third time was the charm for Clippard as he blew the save by allowing four earned runs on two hits and three walks without striking anyone out. Clippard is simply not a great pitcher, and while he’ll get save opportunities if he remains Toronto’s ninth inning man of choice, he is likely going to hurt your averages more often than you’d like.--John Smith
