3 years agoThe Arizona Diamondbacks recalled pitcher Tyler Gilbert from Triple-A Reno on Monday. Arizona designated Oliver Perez for assignment in a corresponding move. Gilbert was solid in his spot start Tuesday against the Washington Nationals despite taking the loss. The 28-year-old allowed one earned run on three hits and one walk while striking out three across 5 2/3 innings. Gilbert isn't scheduled to start this week, and it's unclear what his role will be now that he's back in the big leagues.
