Tyler Gilbert To Start Game 1 Against Dodgers
3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks left-hander Tyler Gilbert is being called up from Triple-A Reno on Tuesday to start the first game of a doubleheader against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Gilbert will likely serve as the 27th man for the doubleheader and will probably be sent back to Reno after the start. In his two major league outings this year (one start), he's allowed two earned runs while walking two and striking out six in 8 2/3 innings. In 14 2/3 frames at Reno, the southpaw has posted an 11.60 ERA and 1.90 WHIP while walking six and fanning five over four starts. Fantasy managers should look to avoid Gilbert against the potent Dodgers offense in the first game of the twin bill Tuesday.
