Tyler Glasnow Underwent Ankle Surgery
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays right-hander Tyler Glasnow (ankle, elbow) underwent arthroscopic surgery on Friday to remove loose bodies from his right ankle. The procedure was performed by Dr. Aaron Mate in Tampa. Glasnow is expected to return to throwing in two to three weeks. The 28-year-old is also recovering from Tommy John surgery last August, so his throwing program will be pushed back slightly. He has the potential to be one of the top starting pitchers in baseball when healthy and has fanned 11.3 hitters per nine innings over 403 career innings covering six major league seasons. But with Glasnow not being ready until sometime in the second half of 2022, he may not be of much use in redraft leagues this year.
