Tyler Higbee Placed On IR, Won't Play Sunday
3 years agoThe Los Angeles Rams placed tight end Tyler Higbee (knee) and offensive tackle Joseph Noteboom (chest) on Injured Reserve on Friday, so they will both be out for the Super Bowl on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. Higbee sprained his MCL in the NFC Championship win over the San Francisco 49ers, and head coach Sean McVay said earlier this week that it was unlikely that Higbee would be available for the big game. With the 29-year-old officially out, Kendall Blanton will need to step up as LA's primary pass-catching tight end against the Bengals. Blanton caught all five of his targets for 57 yards in the NFC Championship while playing 79% of the offensive snaps, so he could be a sleeper against Cincinnati.
