Tyler Mahle Completes Nine Shutout Innings
2 years agoCincinnati Reds starting pitcher Tyler Mahle delivered a gem Tuesday night, though he was forced to take a no-decision in the 5-3 extra-inning victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Mahle threw nine innings of shutout ball, giving up just three hits and striking out 12 batters. He's now delivered four consecutive quality starts, bringing his ERA and WHIP for the season to a more respectable 4.46 and 1.23 in 14 starts. He has just a 2-5 record, but he's bound to be traded before the deadline, and a spot in a better team's rotation would seriously improve his potential to earn wins for fantasy managers.
