Tyler Mahle Could Return When Eligible
2 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Tyler Mahle (shoulder) threw a 25-pitch bullpen session at Target Field on Friday and reported feeling "really good," according to manager Rocco Baldelli. Mahle will throw another bullpen session with more intensity in the coming days, and if that goes well, the Twins are aiming for Sept. 2 as a "loose target" for Mahle's return. It's the first day he's eligible to return from the injured list. The 27-year-old right-hander doesn't have any structural damage in his right arm following his early exit from his Aug. 17 start against the Kansas City Royals. Mahle previously missed three weeks in July with a right shoulder strain. In three starts with the Twins after being acquired from the Cincinnati Reds, Mahle has allowed four earned runs on eight hits while walking four and striking out 12 in 14 1/3 innings.
