Tyler Mahle Goes Five Innings In Saturday Start
3 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Tyler Mahle allowed two runs (one earned) over five innings of work in a 3-2 win over the Chicago Cubs on Saturday. Mahle struck out seven and walked four in the outing. The veteran right-hander struggled with his control in his 17th start of the season, throwing just 59 of 102 pitches for strikes. Overall, Mahle has been solid for the Reds in 2021, posting a 7-3 record, 3.63 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and 112 strikeouts over 89 1/3 innings of work. His inefficiency at times has been a hindrance but overall, Mahle has been a safe starting option in fantasy. He will face off against the Milwaukee Brewers next.
