Tyler Mahle Going To The Twins
2 years agoThe Minnesota Twins acquired starting pitcher Tyler Mahle from the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday in exchange for shortstop Spencer Steer, third baseman Christian Encarnacion-Strand and pitcher Steven Hajjar. Mahle will certainly bolster the Twins rotation as they look to make a deep postseason run this year. The 27-year-old right-hander has gone 5-7 with Cincy this year with a 4.40 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, 114 strikeouts and 39 walks in 104 1/3 innings over 19 starts. The move from hitter-friendly Cincinnati to Minnesota and a much better offense will be great news for Mahle's second-half fantasy outlook as well. In three starts in July, Mahle allowed seven earned runs while striking out 17 and walking seven in 17 innings pitched, so he's been better of late.
