Tyler Mahle Strikes Out Seven In Win
3 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Tyler Mahle allowed one run over 5 1/3 innings of work in a 14-1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday. Mahle struck out seven and walked four in the win, which improved his record to 2-1 on the year. The right-hander was given plenty of run support in this one, as the Reds put eight runs on the board through the first six innings of the game. Mahle had the most success with his four-seam fastball, racking up a 37% CSW rate (called strikes+whiffs). The 26-year-old will take a 3.00 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and 48 strikeouts into his next start, which will come against the Rockies in Colorado.
