4 years agoCleveland Indians outfielder Tyler Naquin (toe) was initially deemed day-to-day after being held out of the team’s Opening Day lineup Thursday, but he will instead incur a stint on the 10-day injured list due to a toe ailment. With Naquin out of the mix for at least the next week, the duo of Jordan Luplow and Greg Allen figure to hold down the left-field job. Naquin, a powerful left-handed swinger who has had difficulty staying in the Cleveland lineup over the past three years, will likely have to compete for playing time upon his activation from the IL in August.--Jesse Borek
