Tyler O'Neill Could Start Rehab Assignment Next Week
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol is hopeful that outfielder Tyler O'Neill (shoulder) will begin a minor league rehab assignment early next week. O'Neill landed on the injured list on May 19 with a right shoulder impingement, but he could be ready to return from the IL when he's eligible in early June if he can avoid any setbacks. Brendan Donovan, Corey Dickerson and Juan Yepez have been rotating playing time in the outfield with O'Neill sidelined, and infield prospect Nolan Gorman is also getting some run at the keystone for the Cardinals. Yepez (.288, four home runs) and Donovan (.333 with a homer, nine RBI and a steal) have been great pickups off the waiver wire in deeper leagues.
