Tyler O'Neill Has One Homer Through Four Games
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals outfielder Tyler O'Neill had a quiet spring training and is off to a bit of a slow start in the first four regular season games as well, slashing .231/.294/.462 with two walks and two strikeouts through his first 17 plate appearances. Five of his RBI came in last Thursday's Opening Day win over the Pittsburgh Pirates, when he went 2-for-3. The 26-year-old had a breakout season for the Red Birds in 2021, hitting .286/.352/.560 with 34 home runs, 80 RBI, 89 runs scored and 15 stolen bases in 138 games played. Unless he cuts down on his strikeouts, O'Neill probably big a big average guy, but he should continue being a key part of St. Louis' lineup as a power/speed threat.
