Tyler O'Neill Loses Arbitration Case Against Cardinals
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals outfielder Tyler O'Neill lost his salary arbitration case against the team on Wednesday. O'Neill will make $3.4 million this year instead of the $4.15 million he requested. Perhaps his arbitration case has been weighing heavily on him early this season, as O'Neill is hitting just .198/.267/.317 with two home runs, 19 RBI, 14 runs scored and three stolen bases in his first 27 games. However, the 26-year-old remains an everyday player for St. Louis and has plenty of time to turn things around. He's currently sporting a 29.3% strikeout rate and a career-low 36.6% hard-hit rate at the plate.
